RUSH at JLL

Had a good week.

I went to see RUSH this weekend at the Jiffy Lube Live pavilion. The still rock after all these years. The people that were eating delicious smelling pizza all around me was driving me mad!

No better time than the present. Time for a Weigh-in. I am a stress eater and there is been too many funerals in the last nine months. I have gained about 28 pounds from my low of like 233.

Book: Shadows in Flight

I finished a couple books last week but my favorite was Shadows in Flight by Orson Scott Card.

I was really looking forward to this story. In the Ender Saga I always wanted to know what happened to Bean and the kids.

This is the first part of that story. There will be another book that details their adventures.

Book: Rise Again

I just finished Rise Again by Ben Tripp.

I really like Zombie Apocalypse fiction. This was a good action adventure survival story. Great survival concepts. Great characters.

Book: Dragon Keeper

I just finished the book Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb.

This is book one in the Rain Wilds trilogy.

I like the story, the characters, the world. I enjoyed the book except for one thing. The book was not a finite story with a real end. It is one of the ones that just ends on a chapter.

I don't have book two, dammit! Neither does my damn library!!

Book: The Cut

I just finished reading The Cut by George Pelecanos.

I can't say it was that good. No mystery really. The main character was not that likable. It was predictable. The actual premise in the end was thin.

Books: The Sentry, and Grave Secret

I finished reading two great books this week. Both are part of series whose characters I just LOVE.

The Sentry has a central character named Joe Pike. He is awesome.

Grave Secret  has Harper Connolly as it's central character.

Great stuff.

Book: Quicksilver

 I just finished reading Quicksilver by Amanda Quick (aka Jayne Krentz). This is a book in the Arcane Society Series.

When I picked it up I didn't realize it was the second book in a trilogy. It was OK though, it stood on it's own feet. I could tell there was back story here, I didn't lose anything because of it. I like that.

It is my guilty pleasure genre. Paranormal-mystery-action-romance-softcore-porn. I Blame Brenda.

Book: Breaking the Rules

I just finished reading Breaking the Rules by Suzanne Brockmann.

It was another in the Troubleshooters series.

I always enjoy the books in this series, while this was not my favorite in the series it was still good!
