Pic of the Day: Snowday!

Where is global warming when I need it. Another pile of snow, dammit!

--At least there are movies here.

Pic of the Day: It's a Day for that Hat

Today is a day where everyone should be wearing a hat like this.

--Damn, it's cold out there.

Pic of the Day: BR and the Farmer!

This is BR with her dad from a recent trip to the great white north.

--I love this pic!

Pic of the Day: The Great Scanning Project

So I have embarked on the Great Scanning Project! Piles of classic family photos await. I started on the pile tonight and among the smiling faces was this classic!

--I want this lamp!

Even the building is a piece of art.

--I love it when it's not crowded.

Pic of the Day: Enola

I love going to the Smithsonian. The newest addition is near where I live and is huge.

This airplane is the Enola Gay. Yeah, that plane. A bomber, a B-29, that bomber...

Did you know it was named after Enola Gay Tibbets? She was the mother of the pilot, Paul Tibbets.

--I wonder how she felt about that?

Pic of the Day: Me Cranium

In my mis-spent youth I was always sporting long hair. The style mattered but I could never actually act like it mattered.

--Now, when it really doesn't matter, I go for easy...

Pic of the day: Shapes and Colors

This image came from my cell phone while I was at the range today.

--I like it!

Pic of the Day: Museum

National Firearms Museum:

Face it: the NRA's National Firearms Museum is preaching to the choir -- a choir who hears the sound of exploding powder charges and whizzing projectiles as the sweetest music. To visit you don't need to be a card-carrying NRA member, or even support the right to bear arms. But it's hard to imagine an equal number of anti-gun visitors -- unless they come to intentionally raise their own blood pressure.

--Want, Want, Want, Want!!

Pic of the Day: The Dino

Silently I stare at you
You don't know I'm around
I know where you've been
I know where you are bound...

--Dino watches you...

Pic of the Day: Me and B

The universe needs to know just how beautiful my wife is and how much I love her!

Here is an actual recent pic of us.

--I am a lucky man!!

Pic of the Day: My Eyes!

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can

--Camping eye spots are common...

Pic of the Day: The Buffet

My friends Jon and Carolyn gave me an excellent buffet for our dining room. My cell phone doesn't do it justice!

Brenda is already planning on filling it with her linen.

--Need to have a dinner Par-Tay!

Pic of the Day: A Few Bros

This is me with a couple of my Bros that I don't get to see nearly enough.

I have always loved this pic.

--I'm the handsome one on the right.

Pic of the Day: I hate cars

So my damn car has been in the shop all week. Transmission problems, idle problems, fuel filter problems and coffee mug holder problems.

--Dammit.

Pic of the day: The Parthenon

Long ago I visited the Parthenon. It was impressive. I stood there alone in the center, looking up at Nike, the goddess of victory...

--in Nashville...

Pic of the Day: 3D Pics

I have several collections.

One of them is my collection of antique 3D stereo viewer photos.

I buy really good ones when I can find them. Thanks to the tube of the interwebs, many are becoming available on-line.

--Creepy ones are the best!

Pic of the Day: Brrrr

Brenda is visiting her parents. This morning she sent me this photo from her cell phone.

Just looking at it made my hands cold and my joints hurt.

Some kids going to put his tongue on a pole. I knoe it!

--Where's your global warming now Mr.Gore!

Pic of the Day: The Bat Cave

You have to look at the Matrix raw. All I see now is blonde, brunette, redhead...

--Better life through technology.

Pic of the day: Gumby guy gone...

Arthur C. Clokey, the creator of Gumby, has died aged 88.

"Art" Clokey, who lived in Los Osos, California, passed away in his sleep.

He is best known for popularizing stop-motion claymation with his children's series Gumby.

--He once was a little green slab of clay...

Pic of the Day: Cady and 3D

My favorite daughter, in her favorite hat, wearing her favorite 3D glasses...

-Avatar as fashion!

Pic of the Day: Taking my wife here soon...

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Pic of the Day: My Dad, the Superhero

"My Dad is cooler than your Dad. Mine has a cape. A real one..."

This photo was the proof of my youthful declaration.

--I still think it's true...

Pic of the Day: The Bookcase

This picture was taken in my den.

My kids Grandfather, Bert Miller, gave me this bookcase. Bert is a lawyer. Not the silk suit, partner in a prestigious law firm, contract attorney kinda lawyer. He is the rumpled, bright eyed. intelligent, kinda lawyer that spent most of his life as a public defender in Washington DC. He is the idealist that so many lawyers strive to be but sell out along the way. I don't have the vocabulary to convey how much respect I have for him.

He is the real deal.

He was moving to a new apartment and was downsizing. I was lucky to be gifted this beautiful bookcase for my den. One day it will be handed down to the next generation.

--I Love it, and him...

Pic of the Day: Dreaming of Summer

Today the temps are in the teens...

It has me dreaming of summer. Long winters longer that time can remember...

-- Char hugged me a lot that day.

Pic a Day: Wanna Watch a Movie?

If you know me, you already know how much I love movies.

If you have not been over to see something in the Valhalla Theater, what are you waiting for?

-- Popcorn included!

Happy New Year

Try not to bust nothin this year, dammit!

Picture a Day 2010

This year I am going to try to post a new photo every day.
