The company I work for will give me a week off, with pay, to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
I think that is so very cool of them. I have contacted my local chapter of HFH to find out when their next project is. It should be fun! I will see if I can rally a crew from work and church to go and swing hammers. I will provide beer and hot tub time!
Should be fun!
It's too nice outside to Blog...
I wonder if the entire blog-o-sphere slows down once the weather outside has gotten this nice? I couldn't tell you because not only have I slowed down writing in my blog, I have pretty much stopped reading anyone else's.
I am glad TV falls into re-runs too. Lost had its last ep this week. Enterprise is over for good. Freeing me further to spend more time in the hot tub or hammoc.
My back yard grotto of relaxation continues to improve. Happy kids, music, movies, taste food and drink, a life full of Love and naps.
Life is good. So very good.

It was too nice this weekend to blog!
It was a very nice weekend.
Worked in the yard, The Grotto of Relaxation. It is getting better and better. I'll post some pics next weekend after I get the rest of the deck in. Excellent hammoc time this weekend. My brother Eric and his wife came over for steaks! We drank wine, talked, sat in the hot tub, and alas, finished off the remains of my bottle of Macallan.
We also got to see the new Star Wars movie Revenge of the Sith. It was good. I should write up a full review. When I'm feeling less lazy.

Survivor
Why the hell do I always watch the reality TV show Survivor?
Another season is over and another million dollars handed out and I still cannot figure out why the hell I like this show. Is it because of the excellent weight loss that occurs? Is it all the camping? Is it because I can make fire without matches? Is it all the breast augmentations? (fake breasts don't loose weight)
Maybe I want to be with Brenda on a desert Island and talk trash about other people!

Reminder: Elvis is dead
Why the hell is Elvis on my TV so much lately, dammit.
Elvis is dead and has been for a long time. Dead because he was a loser junkie.
Sheesh

The Blue Screen of Death
Yesterday, the operating system on my laptop gave up the Ghost. A classic BSOD. It was over a year since I have reloaded the laptop. I usually do it because I want an upgrade. I didn’t lose anything because I constantly back everything up to my server. It still took me like six hour to put it back together.

Wow. No updates since Tuesday
I hate being as busy as I was this week. Every evening filled with stuff planned in advance. Yes, I know, I planned it all myself and I need to stop belly-aching.
My allergies are also killing me. I only mention it because it makes the time go slower.
So today I will begin to address my TiVo buildup. I will spend some time in my hot tub. I will drink coffee and make sure BR knows I love her and sell the truck. I will type emails to catch-up with some friends and update my will. Maybe even work in the yard a bit.
And blog some. Oh yes. Blogging...

Time Machine for Sale. SOLD!
This is from an actual eBay auction!

Hello, I am selling what I believe to be a time machine that was built in the year 2239 by Dr. J. S. Strauss. I found the machine under my house when I was doing remodeling to the bathroom. The machine was hidden in a old rotten wood chest along with some other findings that I believe to be related to the machine like old pictures, letters, ect. I dont know to much about time machines or electronics, but from my observations I believe that the machine might have caught on fire, at some time or another from the looks of the inside, and is now in a non working condition. It also looks like there might be some parts missing on the inside, but I dont know. The time machine itself is not to heavy it weighs 20 pounds and it is 18" high by 23" wide and 11" depth.
From what I put together from all of the findings is that Dr. J. S. Strauss who built the machine in 2239 went into the past to the early 1900's and the time machine broke down or caught on fire or something. From the pictures and letters it looks like he was living in southern california for a while, it looks like he also met some friends and a girlfriend there.
I found the time machine in december of 2004 and I have tried to get it to work but I could not, I even called my best friend who has worked on cars, even he could not get it to work. I know this time machine might be one of the most important discoveries of all time, but if I cant get the time machine to work, then its not worth that much to me, so that is why im selling it on ebay. Also I figured I could get a little extra money so I could finish remodeling my bathroom.
--It sold for $647. What if it's real?

Take Your Kids to Work Day
This week it was Take Your Kids to Work Day. I took both Cady and Gray with me. My company had a ton of very cool demos set up for them. They got to see the Robotics Lab, Biometrics, Aviation, Autonomous Vehicles, Frankenstein computers and lots of other great stuff. It all cements in their minds what a mad scientist their dad is.
At the end they had all the 200 kids’ names in a hat to draw for 4 prize science books. The first name out of the hat was Cady, the second was Gray. Both winners, as usual.
--I gotta be careful or I will reveal exactly how much influence I have on the universe…

Is there no orginality left in Hollywood?
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "The Birds," Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1963 horror tale, looks to be taking flight again as a Universal Pictures remake.
Filmmaker Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production label is in negotiations to make the update with producer Peter Guber though his Mandalay Pictures banner.
The new version would be based on the short story by Daphne Du Maurier, to which Universal owns the rights and which inspired Hitchcock's original movie.
Tippi Hedren starred in the 1963 thriller about increasingly vicious birds that terrorize a small town.
It won't be the first time Universal, which was Hitchcock's home for the latter part of the producer-director's career, has been part of a remake of the master.
In 1998, Gus Van Sant directed a scene-for-scene remake of "Psycho" for the studio. That same year, Warner Bros. Pictures and Koppelson Entertainment turned out "A Perfect Murder," based on the play that inspired Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder."
And at Warner Bros. -- underscoring the rage for Hitchcock remakes -- the studio is mounting a new version of "Strangers on a Train," based on the Patricia Highsmith novel that was the basis for the Hitchcock film.
Platinum is no stranger to the remake genre itself. Its most recent offering, "The Amityville Horror," has taken in more than $43 million after two weekends at the domestic box office.
Platinum also remade "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and recently set up a remake of "The Hitcher" with Focus Features to be released through Focus' genre label, Rogue Pictures.

Music and muscles relaxing...
Just when I thought Life couldn't get much better...
Today I installed outdoor speakers by our new hot-tub. Now we will have lovely, commercial free, digital satellite music, while soaking in the steaming heat and joy of relaxation in the spa or just gently swinging in the hammock.

Man Spits On Jane Fonda
Veteran Has No Regrets For Spitting On Jane Fonda
A man who had waited in line at a book-signing in Kansas City for Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda spit tobacco juice in her face Tuesday night.
The suspect, Vietnam veteran Michael A. Smith, 54, Smith said that his actions were planned and he has no regrets. He said he's a Vietnam veteran still angry at Fonda for her trip to Hanoi in 1972.
His justification for spitting? "She's a traitor, and she cost the lives of a lot of good men," Smith, who was 19 when he was sent to fight in Vietnam, told KMBC-TV in Kansas City. "She didn't do anything to the government -- she slapped us in the face."
--This is wrong. It's like the pie throwing stupidity.

MacCallan Love
I noticed tonight that the bottle of MacCallan scotch Brenda gifted me last Christmas is almost gone. MacCallan is a really great scotch. It's like $150 a bottle and it is magic and love and alchemy in a bottle.
I have enjoyed the bottle so much. She has no idea that every glass has made me think of her, every sip. She has no idea how many times I raised my glass to her and thanked the makers that she exists. She has no idea how humble I feel as I wonder how I can possibly be worthy of her love.
This feeling can't be bought for $15,000 a bottle...

Sin City
This is a simple description of this movie.
Sin City is a violent city where the police department is as corrupt as the streets are deadly. In this movie, we follow three stories, the central of which is Marv, a tough-as-nails and nearly impossible to kill street fighter who goes on a rampage of vengeance when a beautiful woman, Goldie, he sleeps with for only one night is killed while lying in bed with him. Rated:R for sustained strong stylized violence, nudity and sexual content including dialogue.
I loved this movie. But it is totally whacked. I will not recommend it to anyone unless I know them. Because if the wrong person sees it, they will never speak to me again.

When will we learn?
Today the body of 13 year old Sarah Lunde was found in a pond 1/2 mile from her Florida home.
The most precious things in our life are our children. The people who prey on them should have no right to breathe our air. I am sick of this rehabilitation crap. The American prison system can't rehab a shoplifter much less a pathological pedophile sex offender. If you are convicted of a sex crime against a minor, YOU SHOULD BE DONE FOREVER, you get locked up for life or executed. Study after study has shown that pedophiles cannot stop. How many of these stories must we see. Even Michael Jackson couldn't stop when he knew the whole world had their eyes on him!
This is why we needed the sex offended registry. Now it is time to change the laws again. Life in prison for the first offense. No possibility of parole.
