All laptops Die, not all laptops live...

So I moved off my old laptop. The Duct tape was not doing its magic anymore.

One of these days I will buy tablet.

The new Mac Mini looks interesting also...
Q: What did the Zen Buddhist say to the hot dog Vendor?
A: "Make me one with everything."

'Cooter' Urges Fans to Skip 'Dukes' Movie

ATLANTA - If television's "Crazy Cooter" has his way, fans of the "Dukes of Hazzard" may be speeding away from a new movie version of the cornpone classic faster than the Duke boys running from Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Ben Jones, a former Georgia congressman who played the wisecracking mechanic on the popular series from 1979-85, said profanity and sexual content in the film make a mockery of the family friendly show.

"Basically, they trashed our show," said Jones, who now lives in the mountains of Washington, Va. "It's one thing to do whatever movie they want to do, but to take a classic family show and do that is like taking "I Love Lucy" and making her a crackhead or something."

--Did anyone ever tell him what a "Cooter" is?

Summer time and the living is easy...

Well my first vacation of the summer is complete. A weeks worth of friends and family and fun and a few irate Park Rangers.

I had a great day at Six Flags with my kids and I didn't barf once!

I love camping!

Batman Begins

So I went to see Batman Begins. Sombody forgot to tell these guys they were making a summer, action-adventure, comic book, super hero movie.

Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Rutger Hauer, Morgan Freeman were all excellent. No wink-wink at the camera crap.

Katie Holmes was ok but forgettable.

Go see it! It was fun!

The Hills Have Eyes

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Aaron Stanford, Kathleen Quinlan, Ted Levine and Vinessa Shaw are set to star in "The Hills Have Eyes," a remake of the 1977 Wes Craven horror.

The Fox Searchlight project is headed for a shoot in Morocco this month. The film will be directed by Frenchman Alexandre Aja, whose thriller "High Tension" just opened in North America; Craven will serve as a producer.

The story follows a vacationing family that makes a wrong turn in the desert and is terrorized by a cannibalistic clan.

Levine and Quinlan play the heads of the hapless family, Shaw plays one of their daughters and Stanford her husband.

Fox Searchlight picked up the project after it was shelved by Dimension Films, which already had set it up with Aja directing from a script he co-wrote with Gregory Levasseur.

Levine is a series regular on USA Network's "Monk" and recently completed shooting "Memoirs of a Geisha." Quinlan's recent credits include the A&E movie "The Riverman" and the Lifetime TV movie "Perfect Match."

After "The Hills Have Eyes," Stanford will segue into 20th Century Fox's "X-Men 3," in which he will reprise his role as Pyro in the franchise. Shaw most recently starred in "Melinda and Melinda." Her credits include "40 Days and 40 Nights" and "Eyes Wide Shut."

I stumbled on this quote today:

"You need only do three things in this country to avoid poverty - finish high school,
marry before having a child, and marry after the age of 20. Only 8 percent of the families who do this are poor; 79 percent of those who fail to do this are poor."

Books on MP3

So I went to the library last week in search of another pile of books on CD to amuse me during my commute from hell?

I scored the following goodness:

The Hobbit
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King

I just finished The Hobbit with the kids. They loved it and now want to hear them all. The problem is they are all due tomorrow. So today I am ingesting them all into my MP3 server. The next stereo I buy for the car will be able to play MP3's.

The Hobbit was on 13 CDs. I am amazed that more books on tape/CD are not done on MP3. It could be delivered on 1 disk in stead of 13. All 4 books will fit on one DVD. So cool.

All would fit on one iPod.

Hmmmmmm....

I am so sore right now.

BR and I finished off the deck today. We were swinging hammers out there in the heat today. It was like 90 degrees. Sweat was dripping off our noses. It came out very nice. We are such a team. We finished it off and then she cut my hair.

I have sat on the sofa for the last 2 hours watching The 4400 as my joints froze up.

Thank the makers we have the hot tub...

Habitat for Humanity

The company I work for will give me a week off, with pay, to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

I think that is so very cool of them. I have contacted my local chapter of HFH to find out when their next project is. It should be fun! I will see if I can rally a crew from work and church to go and swing hammers. I will provide beer and hot tub time!

Should be fun!

It's too nice outside to Blog...

I wonder if the entire blog-o-sphere slows down once the weather outside has gotten this nice? I couldn't tell you because not only have I slowed down writing in my blog, I have pretty much stopped reading anyone else's.

I am glad TV falls into re-runs too. Lost had its last ep this week. Enterprise is over for good. Freeing me further to spend more time in the hot tub or hammoc.

My back yard grotto of relaxation continues to improve. Happy kids, music, movies, taste food and drink, a life full of Love and naps.

Life is good. So very good.

It was too nice this weekend to blog!

It was a very nice weekend.

Worked in the yard, The Grotto of Relaxation. It is getting better and better. I'll post some pics next weekend after I get the rest of the deck in. Excellent hammoc time this weekend. My brother Eric and his wife came over for steaks! We drank wine, talked, sat in the hot tub, and alas, finished off the remains of my bottle of Macallan.

We also got to see the new Star Wars movie Revenge of the Sith. It was good. I should write up a full review. When I'm feeling less lazy.

--ZZZZZzzzzzzzz...

Looking back tonight...

There is no dark side of the moon really.

As a matter of fact it's all dark...

Survivor

Why the hell do I always watch the reality TV show Survivor?

Another season is over and another million dollars handed out and I still cannot figure out why the hell I like this show. Is it because of the excellent weight loss that occurs? Is it all the camping? Is it because I can make fire without matches? Is it all the breast augmentations? (fake breasts don't loose weight)

Maybe I want to be with Brenda on a desert Island and talk trash about other people!

Reminder: Elvis is dead

Why the hell is Elvis on my TV so much lately, dammit.

Elvis is dead and has been for a long time. Dead because he was a loser junkie.

Sheesh

Otto Maddox was right...
